Al-Nassr head coach Ange Postecoglou has praised Saudi striker Abdullah Al-Hamdan for his commitment, work rate and influence after the club secured a 3-1 victory over Al-Fayha in the 11th round of the Saudi Roshn Pro League.
The Australian manager believes Al-Hamdan offers qualities that make him an important part of the squad, regardless of how much playing time he receives. According to Postecoglou, the forward’s determination and willingness to give everything for the team make him a valuable asset in Al-Nassr’s pursuit of success.
Speaking during his post-match press conference, Postecoglou made his admiration for the striker clear.
“Abdullah Al-Hamdan is an excellent player, a player who gives you everything even if he plays 10 minutes, and he is an influential player,” the coach said.
His comments highlighted the importance of having players who can make an immediate impact, whether they are named in the starting lineup or introduced as substitutes.
Al-Hamdan demonstrated that quality against Al-Fayha, opening the scoring just four minutes into the match. His early goal gave Al-Nassr the perfect start and helped establish the foundation for a valuable three points.
Cristiano Ronaldo extended the advantage with the second goal before Angelo Gabriel added a third to strengthen Al-Nassr’s control of the contest.
Despite the comfortable scoreline, Postecoglou acknowledged that the match presented its own challenges, particularly because of the condition of the playing surface. However, he was pleased with how his team handled the situation and secured the result.
“The most important thing is winning and coming away with the three points today. We know very well the difficulty of the pitch, and I am very happy with the win,” he explained.
The victory provides Al-Nassr with another important boost as they continue their push towards the top of the Saudi Pro League standings. Winning matches consistently will be crucial as the competition intensifies and the pressure increases.
Postecoglou’s praise for Al-Hamdan also underlines the value of squad depth. While established stars such as Ronaldo attract much of the attention, contributions from players who are ready to make an impact at any moment can prove equally important over the course of a demanding season.
For Al-Hamdan, the coach’s public endorsement is a strong sign of confidence in his abilities and attitude. His early goal against Al-Fayha showed what he can contribute on the pitch, while Postecoglou’s comments suggest that his influence extends beyond simply scoring goals.
As Al-Nassr continue their pursuit of silverware, the combination of star quality, reliable squad players and a winning mentality could prove decisive in their ambitions this season.
